30 years AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH

On September 26, 2025, we will celebrate a very special event together with all our employees: 30 years of AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH. During an afternoon with a champagne reception, delicious dishes, cupcakes, donuts and more, we will not only look back on our shared history, but above all say thank you - to everyone who has been with us along the way.

The picture shows the old logo of the AAT company in its early days with the logo "AAT" and three colors green, yellow and blue.

A look back

In 1982, a Swabian company with a great vision laid the foundation stone. Haas & Alber Haustechnik und Apparatebau GmbH came up with the idea of developing a motorized hand truck. The aim was to make it easier for the company's own employees - who at the time were selling white goods such as washing machines - to transport goods up and down stairs and to protect their health. This resulted in the first patent for a "hand truck with stair climbing device". The CargoMaster was born - a product that we still sell successfully today.

Two further key developments followed between 1986 and 1989: the scalamobil stair climber for transporting people and the e-fix electric drive for manual wheelchairs.

In 1995, the company was sold to Triumph Adler AG. At the same time, the transport technology division was spun off into the newly founded AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH. In addition to the further development of the CargoMaster, further innovations were created in our own development department, including the viamobil pushing and braking aid and the e-motion wheel hub drive.

A look at past products

Our product development through the ages

In the following years, AAT successfully positioned itself on the market with newly developed climbing systems and strong product ideas. These included the v-max pushing and braking aid and the max-e auxiliary drive. This was followed by further developments such as the V-MAX mini push aid and the V-MAX² push and brake aid.

We are still focusing on innovation today: we are further expanding our portfolio with the new SOLO² add-on wheelchair drive, which will be launched on the market this year, and the CC160 RE stair climber, specially designed for transporting medical aids in specialist medical supply stores.

What moves us - and what we stand for

A lot has changed at AAT in 30 years. But one thing has remained the same: our commitment to making mobility easier, overcoming barriers and developing solutions that are really needed.

We are proud of our products and innovations, of our stability and growth phases, of the partnerships we have built up and of the challenges we have overcome - technically, organizationally and on the market. It has always been important to us

  • to be technically secure and reliable
  • to stay close to our users
  • to be open to new solutions and technologies
  • to stick together as a team

30 years is a significant milestone - and also the starting point for new goals.

We are looking forward to:

  • further developing our product range and implementing new innovations
  • becoming more sustainable
  • in production, materials and processes
  • working even more closely with partners, dealers and customers
  • further expanding what makes us strong - flexibility, quality and proximity

We are grateful to be able to celebrate this special day together and look forward to the next few years full of new ideas, exciting projects and above all: continued good cooperation.

A little chuckle: we wouldn't shoot the last scene like that today 😉.
