The universal mount for the S-MAX
The universal mount for the S-MAX
Transporting people in their own wheelchair can be a challenge, especially when it comes to overcoming stairs in many buildings.
With the S-MAX stair climber in combination with the universal rack SDM7 we offer a comfortable solution to transport a person in his or her own wheelchair safely over all kind of stairs. It does not matter if it is an indoor or outdoor staircase, straight or spiral staircase.
With the wheelchair universal rack we have developed a special solution to transport as many different wheelchair models as possible. You do not need an additional bracket on the wheelchair itself, as the universal rack is suitable for almost all wheelchairs in different seat widths.
This universal application makes the SDM7 the ideal solution for transporting patients as well as for usage in public buildings.
The SDM7 is suitable for a wide range of manual wheelchairs - without the need to equippe the wheelchair with a bracket.
The upper as well as the lower support can be attached to the stair climber s-max in a few steps.
Thanks to its maneuverability the s-max incl. SDM7 is also suitable for spiral staircases.
With the wheelchair universal rack we have developed a special solution to transport as many different wheelchair models as possible. You do not need an additional bracket on the wheelchair itself, as the universal rack is suitable for almost all wheelchairs in different seat widths. This is particularly advantageous for transporting patients and persons (e. g. taxi services, passenger transport or ambulance services) as different patients will be transported with their individual wheelchairs.
The wheelchair is attached effortlessly by driving onto the lower bracket, while the backrest of the wheelchair is securely locked in place by the upper bracket. This way, a stable and reliable transport is ensured.
To use the universal rack you need a stair climber s-max on which the SDM7 is mounted as an optional accessory. This combination enables an efficient and safe wheelchair transport up and down stairs.
With the s-max stair climber as the basis and the SDM7 universal rack as an extension you will receive a customized solution for the transport of persons in their own wheelchair.

The SDM7 is a universal attachment for the S-Max stair climber, allowing the safe transport of individuals in their own wheelchair over stairs. It is added as an accessory to the S-Max.
The SDM7 is suitable for almost all commercially available wheelchairs in various seat widths without the need for an additional bracket for the wheelchair.
You do not need an additional bracket on the wheelchair itself, the wheelchair is simply pushed onto the SDM7's support shoes and the backrest is locked in place with gripper arms, which ensures stable transport.
Yes, the SDM7 enables effortless transport even on spiral staircases and - depending on the width of the wheelchair - even in narrow stairwells, both indoors and outdoors.
Instruction is provided at the same time as delivery by our trained field service. In the patient transport sector, it is also possible to train and certify certain employees so comprehensively that they can also train other employees within their company.
The SDM7 can be purchased directly from the website or from authorised dealers. It is also possible for the SDM7 to be sold directly by AAT to organisations such as rescue services, ambulance services and similar institutions, as these are not private individuals. Delivery and professional instruction is provided by our competent AAT field service.
Yes, it is possible to arrange a free demonstration of the SDM7. Give us a call or send us your enquiry directly using our Inquiry form. We will be happy to advise you.
The term "mobile stairlift" is often used in everyday life, although it often refers to a stair climber. In fact, there are no mobile stairlifts in the classic sense - a lift is always a permanently installed solution that is permanently installed in a specific building.
A mobile stairclimber from AAT, on the other hand, is the practical alternative when it comes to flexibility, mobility and safe transportation of people up and down stairs - without conversion, without restrictions, for use anywhere.

The beginning of AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH can be traced back to the swabian company Haas & Alber Haustechnik und Apparatebau GmbH. The first idea to develop a motor-driven hand truck grew out of the experience gained by the owner of the company who worked in the plumbing and electrical industries. In 1982, a patent was applied for the "hand truck with stair climbing device". The first product, the CargoMaster, was born.
In 1986, a stair climber was developed which made it possible to transport wheelchairs up and down stairs - the scalamobil was created. After the patent for the "stair climbing device for wheelchairs" was registered, the scalamobil was introduced to the market in 1988.
In the following year, Haas & Alber Haustechnik und Apparatebau GmbH came up with the idea of building an electric drive for manual wheelchairs that would enable wheelchair users to move around without having to exert their own strength. This idea gave rise to the e-fix.
In 1995, the company was sold to Triumph Adler AG and the business segment "transport technology" was excluded from the company. At the same time, the company AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH was founded. In addition to the distribution and further development of the CargoMaster products, the new in-house R&D department also developed products for other companies, including the viamobil pushing and braking aid as well as the e-motion wheel hub drive.
With completely new developed climbing systems the company AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH now presented itself on the market. Subsequently, the pushing and braking aid v-max and the add-on drive max-e were successfully introduced to the market. The product portfolio is constantly being expanded with new types of drives and special industry solutions.
On March 31, 2017, AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH was sold to the company REAC AB. REAC AB is a traditional swedish company, which belongs to the Investment AB Latour and has been a successful supplier to the rehabilitation market for many years. AAT remained an independent company within REAC AB.
The company REAC AB becomes MS Group. MS Group is a global provider of products and services in the field of mobility systems to improve the quality of life of disabled and elderly people.
In January 2020, Investment AB Latour, through its subsidiary MS Group, acquires BATEC Mobility S.L. Since then, BATEC (Spain) belongs to MS Group AB with its members REAC AB (Sweden) and AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH (Germany).
In December 2025, Junginger Capital Affairs GmbH will become the new majority shareholder of AAT Alber Antriebstechnik GmbH.
